Council Elections prompts – Meet the Candidates Forum for Constituents

Local Candidates for both Brisbane City Council seat of Enoggera and Moreton Bay Regional Council seat Division 10 (The Hills District & more) will have their say at a ‘Meet the Candidates Forum’, hosted by The Hills & Districts Chamber of Commerce Inc.  Invitations are also being sent to “known” Mayoral candidates in both Brisbane & Moreton Council areas, which will make it very interesting indeed.

It will be at the Arana Leagues Club, starting 6pm, Thur night 12th March 2020 at Arana Leagues Club 247 Dawson Pde Keperra.

Queensland Council Elections are set state-wide for Sat 28th March 2020 and your local Chamber is well advanced in the Forum planning.   We aim to provide a structured, balanced forum in a friendly atmosphere, for each candidate planning to nominate.

The Hills & Districts Chamber of Commerce Inc. Chair of the Meet the Candidates Committee, Brian Battersby extended the invitation to all candidates in these two (2) seats to contact him about the forum.  This way it gives them an opportunity to express their aspirations, political affiliations or otherwise to the constituents of the local electorates.

“All members of the local & business communities are encouraged to attend our Forum and ask the questions they need answered before the election,” Mr Battersby said.  The Forum will be Chaired by a suitably qualified person, who has kindly donated his time, to support this community event.

The Hills Chamber has held similar forums previously.  Questions can be asked on the night to the attending candidates from the audience.  A reminder to keep questions short, or we could run out of time.

All attendees will be strongly encouraged to please register their attendance via the Chamber website here for this free event, for management & safety purposes.
