We are inviting all seniors and interested parties to come and help us celebrate a special time of the year “Christmas in July”.
The theme is “Celebration” and it will be just that, with a beautiful meal and entertainment.
A primary goal of the Seniors Committee is to promote all seniors’s need to be seen as an important part of the community.
Seniors are important and we are aiming to seek out the isolated individuals and to take them out for Brunch on Us, (morning tea and a sandwich).
One of the purposes of today is to raise funds to assist in funding our Brunch on us initiative.
Doors open at 10.30am with the selling of Raffles Tickets.
Entertainment starts at 11.00am to 12.00 with Lyn Butler.
Lyn proclaims that “Singing is my life. The reward is in seeing the joy reflected from the faces of the audiences.
I have been privileged to be a regular entertainer at many aged care venues, respite centres, National Seniors, Over 55’s and Lifestyle Living communities, Biggest Morning Tea fundraisers, Seniors’ Week events etc. around Brisbane and Ipswich since moving to Ipswich from Kingaroy in 2003.
The highlights of my singing journey were being placed 1st in my section, Mature & Motivated, at the Goodna Jacaranda Festival in 2011.. In 2012 I was placed 1st at our Seniors’ Week Talent competition.
I have a wide range of music, and cover songs from 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, as well as the war eras, and some 90s onwards.. My Christmas repertoire is quite extensive”.
I look forward to bringing the feel of Christmas to you all in July.
Lunch will be served from 12.00 pm.
We will conclude with the drawing of raffles and a few words on the aims and future events of the Seniors Committee.
