MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID COURSE – Member Facilitated Event

LEARN HOW TO APPLY MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TO SOMEONE IN NEED
- Do you know the signs of poor mental health?
- Would you know how to respond to someone experiencing a mental health crisis?
- Would you like to be able to appropriately support a member of your staff, family or community who is experiencing mental illness (1 in 5 Australians)?
At our January meeting, I shared details of the upcoming Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course I am delivering at Ashgrove on Tuesday and Wednesday 18 and 19 February 2020. MHFA kits out participants with the knowledge and skills to be able to support someone experiencing an emerging or worsening mental health challenge or a suicidal crisis.
The program outcomes include:
- Improved knowledge of mental illnesses and treatments.
- Knowledge of appropriate first aid strategies, and confidence in providing first aid to individuals with mental illness.
- Standard MHFA Manual to keep, a Certificate of Completion and eligibility to become accredited as a Mental Health First Aider.
