Do you know that 36% of sole traders and 25% of small business owners report high levels of psychological distress, according to Beyond Blue?
As a Chamber, we want to help you to thrive! Thanks to a Queensland Government Chamber Wellness Fund grant, you have an opportunity to participate in a funded facilitated support group which will equip with knowledge and skills to respond to mental health challenges and to spend more time thriving.
The program consists of six 1.5 hour fortnightly sessions co-facilitated by mental health expert, Donna Thistlethwaite and counsellor, Hayley Lingard. Kicking off in Mental Health month, sessions will run fortnightly on Wednesdays from 4 October to 13 December 2023 at a local venue between 4.30pm and 6.00pm (a combination of Arana Leagues Club and Ashgrove Serviced Offices).
During the program you will build your awareness of mental health, recognise the symptoms and signs of mental health challenges in yourself or others, learn how to support someone who may be experiencing an existing or emerging mental health problem and develop a wealth of useful resources. You can bring all your mental health questions and challenges to the group for support and strategies. Additionally, you will be introduced to a resilience framework and will take away an action plan to boost your resilience.
The program will provide a safe and confidential space where participants will support and learn from each other and the facilitators throughout the program.
$30 of the registration fee will will be refunded (or donated to RUOK? if preferred) at the conclusion of the program.
