The 15th November was the celebration of the 62nd Annual Awards night for Mitchelton State High School and what a wonderful evening it was, with the band setting the energy for the evening as we took our seats.
Acting Principal, Shelley Bampton welcomed us all for an evening with a strong sense of Humility and Teamwork. For a school that has around some 450 students these students are achieving some great things.
After only chats over the phone, it was lovely to meet and present this year’s scholarship recipient, Samantha Dooley with her award, together with the business achievement awards.
Equally as enjoyable was to meet Kelly Cook current Year 12 student, school captain and last years recipient of the Chamber scholarship. I met Kelly’s parents and brother, pictured here with her.
Clearly very proud of Kelly’s achievements who has gone on to be awarded The School Dux. Kelly shared with me of her plans to study exercise physiology, commencing in 2018.
