Frequently Asked Questions

Why was my password rejected?

The Hills Chamber of Commerce website has an extra layer of security that alerts users (and the website team) if someone tries to use a name and password combination that has been leaked by hackers online or where the password is on the most common passwords used in the world.

If you are asked to reset your password, it could mean that somewhere in your online history, some website was compromised and leaked your email and password. Some of big ones that have occurred in the past were Canva and LinkedIn. If you reuse passwords across sites, this could cause your combination to be flagged.

Unfortunately we can’t tell you where the leak occurred, but places check for possible info are:

https://haveibeenpwned.com/

https://breachalarm.com/

You can also check if you use one of a password listed in the common list of passwords https://www.passwordrandom.com/most-popular-passwords

The good news is that all you need to do is reset your password for our site, and you will be back in. The bad news (if you re-use passwords across sites) is that we recommend you change all of them as well for your own security.

Promoting your organisation through the Chamber

The Chamber does not promote any Chamber Member’s initiatives.  What the Chamber does is to provide platforms that allow members to promote their own initiatives.  These platforms include:

  1. The creation of a Member page within the member domain of the Chamber website.  This page can include the provision for various media types to promote the member’s initiatives.
  2. Members can list Member Facilitated events in the Chamber calendar.  Here is some examples of typical member facilitated events:
  3. Members can promote their initiatives by creating posts on the Chamber website and the Member News umbrella: Member News
  4. Events and posts created on the Chamber website can then can be pushed to the Chamber:
  5. Members can promote their initiatives and distribute flyers at the 80 + plus events conducted in a typical calendar year: Chamber Events
  6. Members can receive a current list of Chamber members in a xlxs format upon request so that individual members can be approached by phone, text or email.

Feel free to get in touch if you require any assistance in maximising the Chamber’s promotional platforms.

No Organisational Memberships

The Hills & Districts Chamber of Commerce Inc is people and not organisational centric.  There are no organisational memberships.  Only people members.

The membership structure is based on capacity to pay. Business & Corporate registrations allow for 2 people to become members attached to one organisation

There is a provision that allows larger organisations that have branch offices to have a listing for each branch at the Business membership level and this allows for 2 members per branch.  It also works out cheaper than one corporate.

If you want all four to have membership we could cancel the corporate membership and replace it with two business memberships.

For example you could set up Enterprise & Training Company Limited – Caboolture and Enterprise & Training Company Limited – Brisbane with two associated with each.

You do not have to be a member to attend a chamber event only to vote.  Also a member can obtain a member discount for nonmembers when booking for events.

Being a Chamber member really only adds value through participation in Chamber activities.
