Nomination due by Tuesday, 25 June 2024 | Email: secretary@hillschamber.org.au
Our Hills & Districts Chamber of Commerce AGM is approaching on 9 July 2024, and we need to refill all executive roles.
This year, we are actively looking for new nominees for the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary, as required by our constitution.
We encourage chamber members who haven’t volunteered on the exec team before to consider nominating. There are other executive roles available as well, providing a variety of opportunities to contribute. The executive roles involve various responsibilities, from governance and financial reporting to organising events and managing membership engagement. Nominations close on Tuesday, 25 June 2024.
To nominate, please send an email to secretary@hillschamber.org.au with the following information:
- Nominated Executive Position (see list below)
- Business Name
- Business Address
- Mobile
Here are the all the positions available:
- President
- Vice President (up to 3)
- Secretary (this can be a joint role)
- Assistant Secretary
- Treasurer (this can be a joint role)
- Executive Member (multiple positions, see list below of responsibilities you may wish to specialise in)
An executive may wish to specialise in any one or more of any of the following areas. These are just examples of the roles currently spread amongst our exec team:
- Regional representation (e.g. attending external events and meetings). This is usually shared between President and Vice Presidents.
- Governance, admin, scheduling executive meetings
- Budgeting, financial reporting, finance advice
- Financial governance for grant applications
- Organising monthly networking events, business workshops, and other events
- Membership engagement
- Social media, newsletters and publicity
- Managing our website, CRM, Google Drive and other IT
- Leveraging Moreton Money program, our #backalocal gift card program, a collaborative #buylocal partnership with City of Moreton Bay and other chambers in our region
Executive roles last for one year, and typically require between half a day per week or more of volunteer time, but that depends on your availability. The more hands on deck, the less time required.
If you feel you are unable to commit as an exec member, please consider volunteering for shorter project-based events. If that’s of interest, please mention this in your email to the Secretary by Tuesday, 25 June 2024.
