The 2023 Moreton Bay Leaders Forum was held on Friday 21st July at Eatons Hill Hotel and was attended by Craig Shim (President), Brian Battersby (Advocacy) and Glen Faulkner (Vice President) from the Chamber along with federal, state and local government representatives and business leaders from across Moreton Bay.
The event was hosted by Madonna King along with a keynote address from the Hon Ed Husic, Federal Minister for Industry & Science and Mayor & Councillor Peter Flannery. They were later joined by the Hon Dr Steven Miles MP and UniSC’s Professor Karen Becker for a panel discussion on the future and vision for Moreton Bay.
The highlight of the event was the official announcement by Mayor Peter Flannery that Moreton Bay Region has officially become Moreton Bay City. As Australia’s 3rd biggest Council, the new status will help advocate for more State and Federal Government investment and build an identity to increase awareness to attract more investment and jobs to the region.
