Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) and Innovate Moreton Bay present a networking breakfast and panel discussion – “Business Resilience in Challenging Times”.

In 2020, University of Sunshine Coast researchers, in collaboration with Innovate Moreton Bay, developed research-focused case studies to explore the resilience and innovation of regional businesses.

This panel will explore the results of this insightful research including key findings and recommendations.

Guest speaker – Maree Adshead, Queensland Small Business Commissioner

Prior to the panel discussion we are pleased to welcome Maree Adshead to deliver an update from the office of the Queensland Small Business Commissioner.

Maree Adshead was appointed Queensland Small Business Commissioner in May 2020 under the COVID-19 Emergency Response Act 2020. It is the primary role and function of the Small Business Commissioner to advocate for small businesses, to connect them with information and support needed to grow and thrive.

Maree is an experienced advocate and small business owner. She has spent 10 years in the legal profession, as a partner of national law firm. She has also had experience with start-ups, having founded and built her own successful software start-up businesses which received multiple awards for excellence in innovation.
