Wanted: Brisbane legal firm for a refugee career matching opportunity

Wanted - Brisbane legal firm
8 June 2021

Are you in a position to offer employment or work experience to a qualified lawyer seeking local Australian experience as legal assistant or legal clerk?

We’ve been approached with this request by a proactive Brisbane-based candidate who just happens to be from a refugee background. All we need is a company to match them with as part of our Refugee Career Matching & Mentoring Initiative.

You don’t need to be a member of our Hills Chamber to participate, just an ability to offer any of the following: paid employment, work experience or mentoring. These are some of the most practical ways you can help people from refugee backgrounds “get a foot in the door” to employment in Australia.

Not right now? If you know of another organisation that could be a good fit, please share this post.

This ground-breaking program is led by The Hills and Districts Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Romero Centre. It is the one of the first partnerships of its kind in Australia between a Chamber of Commerce and the local refugee community.
